An award winning landscape designer and owner of the Connecticut design/build firm, Earthworks Landscaping LLC., Jeff brings his creative passion to garden design and installation as well as landscape construction. With a broad range of interests, Jeff is also a published writer.
His latest book reflecting his love of landscape design, entitled INSIDE OUT: The Art & Craft of Home Landscaping; (Breakaway Books), was hailed as one of New York’s Newsday’s gardening editor’s favorite books of 2007.
His novel, PERFECT SILENCE; “a splendid debut…a work of beauty that throbs with wonder and longing…compelling and lushly imagined,” was a BOOKSENSE 76 FEATURED SELECTION in 2000.
A published poet, Hutton has also written a monthly music column: Sound Thinking: Conversations in Music – for The New England Entertainment Digest, as well as a landscape and gardening column for a local Connecticut newspaper.
He teaches creative writing through Manchester Community College’s Continuing Ed. Program, in addition to a popular landscape design course through a regional continuing ed. program.
He is completing a new novel and has just begun work on his second landscape/gardening book tentatively titled: OUTBACK: Creating Great Backyards He has also begun research on a book on Claude Monet, who some call the “original landscape designer”.
